Compliments Guys go on national tour

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Compliment Guys, Purdue juniors Cameron Brown and Brett Westcott, spread cheer every Wednesday on campus during the school year. The two now plan to brighten the day of many more people on an national tour.

"It's definitely our dream to compliment as many people as humanly possible," said Brown.

They will take their homemade sign and compliments to 10 different cities along the East Coast over the course of two weeks. They'll leave on July 20 and tour through July 31, visiting the following cities:

• New Orleans, LA
• Birmingham, AL
• Atlanta, GA
• Charleston, SC
• Charlotte, NC
• Washington, DC
• Baltimore, MD
• Philadelphia, PA
• New York, NY
• Rochester, NY

"We still have our cardboard sign. It still says free compliments. Still has our names on it. It no longer says unaffiliated," Brown explained.

Kodak is now their sponsor. The company will record their tour and post pictures, video, and blogs to the internet.  Click here to see their travel blog.  The two are looking forward to coming up with new compliments to fit the areas they'll travel.

"Styles will definitely change as we move along the coast, so our compliments will have to evolve and I think Brett and I are up for the change," said Brown.

Never fear; they won't forget their roots and will return to their original venue in the fall.

"We'll be back complimenting when the school year starts," Brown said.

That's a compliment to the Purdue community.
