INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Andrew Smith's tip-in with a second remaining gave Butler a 67-65 win over Purdue Saturday in the Crossroads Classic at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Butler got the ball with 6 seconds left. Roosevelt Jones missed a jumper, and Smith was there to clean up with a two-handed tip.

Smith and Kameron Woods led Butler with 12 points apiece and Chase Stigall added 11 for the Bulldogs (5-6), who had lost three straight.

Robbie Hummel scored 16 points, Ryne Smith scored 14 and Lewis Jackson added 13 points for Purdue, which had won its past two games after a loss to No. 8 Xavier.

Butler held Purdue to 21 percent shooting in the second half and won despite going 12 for 22 at the free-throw line.

Jackson missed the front end of a one-and-one with 28.9 seconds left, and the first of two free throws with 10.3 seconds remaining.
