SAN DIEGO (CNN/XETC) - Most pet owners think their pooches are pretty cute, but it is fair to say many would disagree when it comes to these canines.

The 15th annual "Ugly Dog Contest" was held in San Diego Sunday.

This year's winner was Rascal. He's a toothless, hairless, bug-eyed dog. It was Rascal's first year in the competition.

The event raises money for local animal charities.

But not every dog was an "ugly" candidate. Other categories include cutest dog, best costume, and the dog who looks most like its owner.
