PROVO, Utah (CNN/KSL) - A 50 cent used cell phone ended up connecting a Utah man to some of the sport's industries top stars.

The man says he purchased the old phone from a thrift store.

Turns out, it used to belong to former Jazz general manager Dave Checketts. Apparently it still had many of the sports businessman's contacts listed inside.

The phone owner says he thought about calling a few of the famous people, but decided against it. He plans to return the phone to its former owner.
